Anthony Silk began his career in Aerospace Engineering then joined the United States Navy where he flew the EA-6B Prowler Electronic Warfare aircraft, including a tour flying off the USS Independence aircraft carrier. He is also a graduate of the Navy Test Pilot School and served for 22 years both in the Active and Reserve fleets. He then started teaching mathematics at Cupertino High School before moving to The Harker School in San Jose, California where he has been for over 20 years, currently serving as the Upper School Mathematics Department Chair. He has taught courses ranging from Algebra 1 through Differential Equations, including both Advanced Placement Calculus AB and BC for which he has been both a College Board Reader and a Table Leader since 2007. Anthony became a Consultant for Advanced Placement Precalculus last year and has presented that material at both summer institutes and the AP Annual Conference.
