Course Description
APSI for Chinese Language and Culture is to provide an opportunity for teachers who are or will be teaching the AP* course to improve and prepare a rigorous course to challenge students and prepare them for the AP* Chinese exam. It’ll help AP* teachers focus on different and interactive strategies and materials for their course.

• Plan effective and engaging units for classroom practice.
• Review students’ performances on the exam
• Share teaching strategies and materials

Day 2
• How to help students improve their interpretive skills (Skill Category 1- 4)
• Help students develop the skill of interpersonally speaking with others and writing to others (Skill Category 5 and 6)
• Review rubric for both skills
• Analyze some students samples
• Examine and discuss the scoring guidelines
• Suggestions for students and teaching strategies for teachers
Day 3
• Review rubric for Cultural presentation and Story Narration
• Assess students’ performance
• Examine and discuss the scoring guidelines
• Suggestions for students and teaching strategies for teachers
Day 4
• Syllabus Design Assignment (given on Day 2) Feedback for each presentation
